Come join the team! We are seeking an energetic person to join our IT team as a Senior Network Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for building and supporting Windows and Linux servers in production and development environments. This includes the installation and maintenance of server applications such as Active Directory, email, web servers and database servers. Day to day duties for this position include planning and deploying upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment as well as troubleshooting server performance issues. Documentation of all system, application and network configurations is maintained in accordance with change management procedures.

Other responsibilities include:

• Stage and deploy Windows and Linux servers including all associated hardware, operating systems and application software.
• Windows network administration including user account management, email configuration, group policy management and basic network service management.
• Administration of Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint and other server-side applications.
• Monitor servers and applications and respond to alerts from open source network monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot server performance and configuration issues utilizing a variety of resources.
• Ensure that data backups and regular restore tests are performed and documented.
• Maintain all system, application and network configuration documentation as prescribed by change management procedures.
• Serve as a resource and escalation point for desktop support issues.
• Assist with technology planning through ongoing research.
• Work closely with the end-user community to resolve issues.
• Work with hardware and software vendors regarding support and repair issues.

THE BOTTOM LINE
This position will serve as a technical point of contact for customer departments; the ideal candidates will have the following:

• A bachelor’s degree or a combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the knowledge and abilities required for the position.
• Network+, MCP, MCSE, RHCE, CCNA. HP certification is a plus.
• 4 years experience working in Windows 2003 Active Directory environments.
• 4 years experience supporting Microsoft Exchange, IIS, SharePoint and SQL Server.
• At least four (4) years of Windows administration experience with a portion of that time in the testing and integration of Windows-based applications.
• Web servers concepts and technologies.
• Network monitoring and notification.
• Experience with Redhat Linux operating system and applications (i.e., apache, MySQL).
• Experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
• Knowledge of the functions of common network protocols such as HTTP, FTP, MAPI, SMTP, SNMP and DNS.
• Experience working with incident and/or change management tools.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Customer service courtesies, practices and techniques.
