Come join the team!  We are seeking an energetic person to join our Software Development team for approximately 3 months as a Contract Senior Project Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Contract Senior Project Manager will manage the timing and progress of all corporate development projects and releases. This position is responsible for facilitating communication among all departments to ensure that business and development objectives are met.

Specifically this position will:

• Oversee day to day activities of the Software Development team
• Plan development iterations – work with teams to identify and estimate specific project tasks
• Manage the progress of development projects and report on status
• Identify and escalate project issues and roadblocks
• Work closely with QA to manage the integration and release of software and web products
• Facilitate communication among teams
• Maintain project roadmap
• Identify areas where work flow and process can be improved and implement process changes
• Field production issues and work with teams to resolve and reduce issues over time
• Manage on-time integration and delivery of all corporate development projects
• Manage the overall functions and deliverables of the Software Development team
• Manage project work flow and process improvements
• Maintain project documentation consistency
• Collaborate with Development, IT, Product, Art, Marketing, QA, Customer Service and Broadcast Operations to plan, estimate, and oversee the delivery of software and web releases to production
• Provide guidance to the Software Development team on project and release issues as they arise
• Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation
• Maintain customer relationships with third party companies when necessary to field production issues and collaborate on development projects. This involves project planning, requirements gathering, overseeing testing, and managing the delivery of projects that integrate with third party systems (i.e. Satellite Providers, Cable Companies, Mobile partners, middleware providers)

  
THE BOTTOM LINE

We are looking for candidates who have a Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years of software project management experience.  Prior experience as a software project manager or directly related experience is required.  They should have a solid understanding of project management tools, procedures and overall product life cycle with an emphasis on project management skills.  Experience with iterative tracking and management of releases to production is required.  Knowledge of standard Software Development practices; Client/Server, Web, and Mobile platforms; and User interface/Human factors is a must. 

Ideal candidates will have prior personnel management experience with strong leadership, analytical, project management, communications and organization skills.  Proficiency with MS Office software, MS Project, and MS Visio is required.  Applicants should have the necessary skills to drive a new product from development to market, while working effectively in a team environment and delegating task to internal and external resources as necessary.  Outstanding communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships is a must.  Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple projects and perform highly responsible and complex work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
